The morning the screen spidered

8 September 2026

It was not a dramatic drop. Changing table, small height, wrong bounce, glass like a leaf. Unlocking still worked if I pressed the uncracked corner. Logging did not, not really, not with a thumb that kept opening the camera instead.

We had a spare phone in a drawer that still thought it was 2023. I signed into Bibi Jot with the same email I’d used on a calm Sunday. The backup was ciphertext. I’m not going to pretend I inspected the cryptography over coffee. I cared that Tuesday’s feeds showed up.

They showed up. I sat on the floor longer than I needed to.

What has to be true

You had to have signed in before the bounce. You had to have let it upload. If you never signed in, the log is on the broken glass. That is the deal, and it is stated without romance on the privacy page.

Photos of the baby were never in that backup. They live in the camera roll. I had mixed feelings, then I remembered I do not want checkup photos sitting in a random dashboard. Mixed feelings resolved themselves.

Forgot-PIN panic is a different morning. PIN locks the screen. Restore is the account. I had them backwards once and emailed support like a person who had them backwards.

After

New phone, old log, same clinic appointment on Thursday. I exported the page in the car because superstition dies hard. The river in the vinyl was still there. The feeds were not a reconstruction.

If your glass is already a leaf, do the Sunday sign-in on a device that still types. Then think about screens.

This is a care-log note, not medical advice. Sleepy-window times are estimates. If something feels off, call your clinic.
